- VCO to present the iRacing Special Events at Le Mans, Spa-Francorchamps and Road Atlanta.
- Like the iRacing 24h Nürburgring, these endurance races are also ‘powered by VCO’.
- Haasper: “We are proud to be able to present fans with this ‘Grand Slam’ of motorsport on iRacing.”
Munich – The action continues to come thick and fast in the eventful 2020 Esports racing season. The next highlight on the iRacing platform comes as soon as this weekend with the iRacing 24h Le Mans powered by VCO. Like the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring, the second iRacing Special Event will be presented by Virtual Competition Organisation. The same goes for the endurance races at Spa-Francorchamps and Road Atlanta.
“For years, the iRacing Special Events have been the cornerstone of the Esports racing season,” said Florian Haasper, CEO Virtual Competition Organisation. “As such, we are proud to be able to present fans with this ‘Grand Slam’ of motorsport on iRacing. The 24-hour race at the Nürburgring in late April was extremely exciting. I am sure that this will also be the case at Le Mans, Spa-Francorchamps, and Road Atlanta.”
Kevin Bobbitt, Director of Marketing at iRacing: “The iRacing 24 Hours of Le Mans powered by VCO is expected to be one of the largest special events we have ever put on here at iRacing. Hundreds of teams and thousands of drivers are expected to compete this weekend – in 2019 over 1,000 teams competed with nearly 5,000 drivers taking to the track. The legendary track and 24-hour race is a favourite of iRacing members and the additional support from VCO, including the photo services and John Hindhaugh calling the race, will further enhance its prestige among sim racers.”
As part of the agreement to present these Special Events, VCO is offering all the participants in the ‘Top Split’ at each event a free photo service on the VCO Media Cloud at https://bit.ly/vcomedia24hLM. John Hindhaugh and the legendary commentary team at Radio Show Limited will also return to add their expertise to the livestream, which is produced by RaceSpot.
The iRacing 24h Le Mans powered by VCO gets underway at 15:45 (CEST) on Saturday. The races at Spa-Francorchamps and Road Atlanta will take place on 11th/12th July and 3rd/4th October.
