A MAJOR VCO CHAMPIONSHIP CASE

THE VIRTUAL SIDE OF IMSA COMPETITION.

Multiclass sports car racing on iRacing, delivered with IMSA, iRacing and VCO.

Multiclass competition

The IMSA Esports Global Championship brings the identity and multiclass competition of IMSA sports car racing to iRacing. VCO works with IMSA and iRacing to deliver the championship for esports racing teams from around the world.

GTP prototypes and GTD cars share the track. Managing traffic between the classes is part of the strategy, alongside the fight for position within each class.

VCO’s role

VCO has served as the series organiser, contributing competition operations and esports racing expertise.

2026 championship

The 2026 IMSA Esports Global Championship is the fifth season of the series. Five rounds run from Road Atlanta to Daytona, with up to 52 teams competing across GTP and GTD.

Entry combines continuity and open competition: eligible defending class champions receive invitations, teams can qualify through iRacing public pre-qualifying, and GTP and GTD winners from VCO Grand Slam broadcast splits can earn direct championship invitations.

That connection makes IMSA Esports more than a standalone championship inside the VCO ecosystem — it gives performance in major iRacing endurance events a direct route into the series.
